Approximately 67 million Takata air bags (priority groups 1-12) have been recalled because these air bags can explode when deployed, causing serious injury or even death.
Recently, vehicles from 19 different automakers were recalled to replace driver and passenger airbags made by auto parts supplier Takata that may explode and cause serious injury or death. Certain BMW models from 2000—2015 may be affected.

BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall (effective November 28, 2023) on certain Model Year 2014 – 2015 BMW vehicles that were produced between February 22, 2014, and March 7, 2014. The inflator for the driver air bag may not have been produced according to specifications by the supplier.
