A woman designed Cincinnati's most important Modernist building. It is the Terrace Plaza Hotel of 1946-48, downtown on Sixth Street between Race and Vine Streets near Fountain Square. The architects of record for the building were Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM) of New York, working for Cincinnati developer John J. Emery.
