The optimal quest guide lists Old School RuneScape quests in an order that allows new Members to progress in a way that minimises the amount of skill training to completion of all the quests. This guide does not show the most efficient quest order.

In looking for chronological order, do you mean in lore, account progression or by release date? If by release date the wiki allows you to sort by that information, or you can watch J1mmy’s YouTube account By Release.
This article contains the Optimal Quest Order shared by Slayermusiq1. You can loosely use this order to check which quest you should complete next, or follow it strictly if you’re a returning player looking to be as efficient as possible!
There’s an optimal guide you can find on the wiki and in runelite. Would recommend you follow that, but not strictly follow it because things like fairy rings, b gloves, and other content are better unlocked sooner rather than later.
I learned there is an optimal quest guide on the Wiki and wish I would have learned about it sooner… sharing here for folks that want to take advantage of it: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Optimal_quest_guide
There are 148 pay-to-play quests in Old School RuneScape, offering a total of 277 Quest points. Together with the free-to-play quests, there is a total of 170 quests for 321 Quest points. Below is a list of all members-only quests. While the listed difficulties and lengths are the averages of each quest, these can still vary for every player.
Unlike the main Optimal quest guide, this free-to-play optimal quest guide focuses mostly on optimizing the progress through many different quests at once, instead of optimizing for quest experience rewards.
