Had to call blink support to get "no subscription" install to completely install (deleted initial account and started a new one). It seemed to record video to the usb stick on motion alerts but replaying them on my phone was more miss than hit.

A cell phone that was connected to wifi. I didn't answer any of the calls but as soon as the phone stopped ringing, the camera would start recording. I'm thinking someone hacked my wifi.

For people who don't own their home, or for those who are frightened of power tools, I guess I understand the appeal. Should these just get returned ASAP, or is anyone lurking who has gotten these to work w/o subscription and solely on a local network.
