13 sie 2012 · There is a way to make sure the information isn't stored - which is to do all the processing client-side. The bitaddress generator does do the processing client side, but I'm not convinced 1) that there's enough entropy or 2) there's not a side-channel attack. –
Bitaddress.org was definitely the gold standard for paper wallet generation. Since 2013, I've investigated every line of code changed, and found no issues except for one: bitaddress.org has a bug in which BIP38 encryption is broken (fails to decrypt) when using Safari 5.x.
The certificate for www.bitaddress.org is issued by PositiveSSL. Chrome trusts them (PositiveSSL), firefox does not. There are an awful lot of issuers, and different browsers are bound to have slightly different lists.
I found this phishing-scam website https://biladdress.org that disguises as the famous paper-wallet generator bitaddress.org . The code picks a public address from a pre-defined list, unrelated to the private key that it displays. i.e. if you transfer bitcoins to the address you no longer have any control over them.
1 sty 2019 · Eversince I didn't hear anything yet that someone got scam using bitaddress.org generated address. For your security, you can run bitaddress in offline mode by saving offline the page turning off your internet also and generate new address for your future use.
19 lut 2024 · If the verification is successful, open bitaddress.org.html in the browser, and proceed to create your wallet. Copy the bitcoin private key and corresponding address to the USB drive, disconnect the USB drive, and store in a safe place.
