Big Ears is an interval driller. It plays a random interval and then allows you to guess which interval was played. (See What is Ear Training.) Each time it plays an interval, it randomly selects a starting pitch. Big Ears has a range of two octaves and chooses pitches chromatically (it does not stick to a diatonic key).
Phase 1 Big Ears. Print onto card. Cut around the outline of each ear, including the tab. Cut a strip of paper long enough to go around the child’s head and fasten the ends together with tape. Fold and stick the tab of each ear to the headband. Now you can go for a listening walk. Ref: p1ears.

EAR PARTS: Cut out all parts. Use X-acto knife to cut out striped area of outer ear (“hole” in ear). Roll the ear canal (1) around a pencil to make it curved into a half tube. Glue the ear drum (2) to the end of the ear canal using the tabs. (Press and hold each tab for a count of 10.) Glue the ear canal to the wedge-shaped tabs.
