Receptivity to the Word, responsiveness to the Word, and resignation to the Word are essential to spiritual growth. One must accept God’s Word, act on it, and abide by it.

James encourages and admonishes the church in the dispersion. She is tempted and tested, both from within and from without. James points to God the Father, who calls them through the Word of truth and continues to sustain them with the proclamation of that Word.
