The City of Tonawanda and the Towns of Amherst, Clarence, Newstead and Grand Island were shifted to a Travel Advisory as of 6 a.m. this morning. Due to treacherous road conditions and expected heavy snowfall, a Travel Ban remains in effect for the remainder of Erie County, as shown on this map.
Following continued reviews of road conditions and weather forecasts and constant communication with city, town and village officials from throughout the region, Erie County announces it will update its travel restrictions to reflect the following as it pertains to driving bans starting Monday, Nov. 21.

13 sty 2024 · Earlier today, Governor Kathy Hochul and local authorities announced that a full travel ban for passenger vehicles will be in effect for all of Erie County beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday to give plow crews time and space to clear roads during the overnight hours. This ban will be reassessed at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
