Today I encountered the problem while trying to spectate a game (after I already spectated another server, in order to see if hackers are present). Restarting game/PC doesn't solve the problem. After several attempts I tried reinstalling origin and repairing BF1, nothing worked.

Locate your BF1 game folder and locate the .exe file. Right click and select properties, in the compatability tab tick the run as admin box then hit apply. Loate the Origin exe file and do the same. Close and re-open origin then try playing the game.
I receive the Error code: 1 message when I try to join any match through the server browser on PC via the EA app. After the message appears, the game stops responding and I am forced to close it via Task Manager.

Question. Playing BF1 on Playstation and for some reason now I cant join any rented servers from the server browser and it comes up with the error message: An unknown error occurred. Error code: 1. I have to play via server browser since there are only 2 Australian servers now for playstation.
Here are a few things you can try: Restart PC. Reset Router to default settings. If you are using a router, try switching to ethernet. Or if you are using WiFi, switch to ethernet. Delete game and re-install it. Contact EA support (Highly recommended), they have email and live chat support with an agent.
