7 lip 2011 · I'm trying to use the command line program convert to take a PDF into an image (JPEG or PNG). Here is one of the PDFs that I'm trying to convert. I want the program to trim off the excess white-space and return a high enough quality image that the superscripts can be read with ease.
24. libvips can convert PDF -> JPEG quickly. It comes with most linux distributions, it's in homebrew on macos, and you can download a windows binary from the libvips site. This will render the PDF to a JPG at the default DPI (72): vips copy somefile.pdf somefile.jpg.
pdfimages -j file.pdf page. You may or may not need to follow that with a convert to .jpg step (depending on what bitmap format the PDF was using). I tried this command on a PDF that I had made myself from a sequence of JPEG images. The extracted JPEGs were byte-for-byte identical to the source images.
