The review process can take anywhere from two weeks to several months, but most applicants receive an admissions decision within 6-8 weeks. Our goal every year is to have all decisions transmitted to applicants by late March-early April.
Berkeley Law’s early decision program is binding. If you are admitted, this means that you must commit to enrolling at Berkeley Law the following fall and that you must submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by the date indicated in your admission notification.

You can view those who applied to Berkeley Law School that were accepted, waitlisted, and rejected as well as filter by cycle and type of applicant (URM, International, Non-traditional, Early Decision, In-State, Received Aid, or Fee Waiver).
Students are admitted to the program by the Graduate Division of the University of California, Berkeley, on recommendation of the Jurisprudence and Social Policy admissions committee. Applications for entry in Fall 2025 will open in October and will close on December 15, 2024 at 8:59pm PST.
Most law schools will start sending out decisions around 2 months after an application is submitted, but this time may be shorter or longer depending on the school, and the time of year you submitted the application.
The application filing period is October 1 – November 30. All applications must be submitted by November 30. Berkeley does not offer application for early admission or early decision.
