At the end of the Babylon manga, protagonist Zen Seizaki discovers the truth behind the conspiracy that involves Japanese politics and decides to sacrifice himself to expose corruption and save society. He becomes a martyr and is remembered as a hero who fought for justice.
About the Babylon ending. So I know they were going for something like Evangelion with the subversion of expectations but it didn’t really work for me. It really felt like a different show when the main guy went to America, and I was way more interested in him than the president. I feel like he got shafted.
I’m curious as to how other people think the show should have ended, assuming that it never used the manga ending, which I’ve heard is good. I personally believe that the last episodes should have focused on Zen tracking down Ai while unraveling what was left of the mysteries from the beginning of the show.
