10 gru 2023 · amazon automobile wrap advertisement promo. Is this legitimate or a scam? they are paying me 3550 with 700 going to me and the balance to the installer to come auto wrap my car for a 12 weeks then the installer will come and remove wrap. It sounds fishy to me ane others.

No matter who you are or how a scammer reaches out to you, this scam tends to play out the same way. If you respond to the text, email, or ad, the scammer will send you a check to deposit. They’ll say to use some of that money to pay the “installer” who’ll wrap your car with the ad.
So over the past couple weeks I was dangerously close to falling for a car wrapping scam. Figured I'd write about it here to share and to spread awareness in case any other students experience this. TL:DR version: If an email looks like a phishing scam, even just slightly, chances are it is.
