The most commonly heard sound of the Australian Green Tree Frog is a series of deep squelching ‘crawk-crawk-crawk-crawk…’ calls. They can often be heard calling from high in trees and even in drain pipes and gutters in some suburban areas and rural buildings.
The male Litoria caerulea calls year round from high positions in the trees, but at night he comes down to call from slightly elevated larger rocks. During the dry season they cover themselves in a cocoon of sloughed epidermis and mucus and burrow to keep moist.
