The Athletics merit badge includes activities like sprinting, long-distance running, jumping, swimming, pull-ups, push-ups, weight training, baseball throws, basketball shots, and football or soccer kicks. Scouts choose four groups of activities and work on improving their skills over three months.

This merit badge shows a scout how physical athleticism can improve through regular exercise, and that directly supports the Scout Oath and BSA vision. A lifestyle that includes regular physical activity helps build and maintain a healthy and strong body.
Merit Badge Workbook. This workbook can help you but you still need to read the merit badge pamphlet. This Workbook can help you organize your thoughts as you prepare to meet with your merit badge counselor. Merit Badge Counselors may not require the use of this or any similar workbooks.
