   You should be able to log into your router configuration by going to 192.168.1.254. Under the wifi settings there, you can give the 2.4 GHz and 5 ghz bands different names, which should split them/disable the band steering. I had to steer away from the gateway for 5ghz wi-fi. Not stable.
