Gloomstalker Assassin is the equivalent to the Stealth Archer in Skyrim. No matter how many times I play, I always end up with a Gloomstalker Assassin running the show.
Gloomstalker gives you an entire additional attack at the start of combat, that does not use an action nor a bonus action, and it does 1-8 extra damage. So you do 3 attacks your first turn instead of 2. You also get initiative bonus, bonus-action hide, superior darkvision, and once-per-short-rest invisibility.
