The Jota amplifier has been among Art Audio’s offerings for a long time. The machine is available in many different versions to be very versatile and while certain details have been tweaked over time, the core platform has remained the same for years.
With its outputs muted but the driver and rectifier tubes still glowing brightly, the Jota would alert its capricious owner that Art Audio’s designers wisely anticipated such foolishness and protected the amplifier from its -- potentially dangerous -- owner.
The Jota is a fantastic amplifier and I congratulate all its owners! Its flaws are related to its low power (yes) and a slight rounding of the treble and bass. But it’s a really faint rounding.
Every time I visited my dealer (a very bad man) about something, he'd somehow manage to direct me to the room where this damn amp was playing... and I couldn't help but listen to it. After a year of this, he made me an unbelievable deal-maybe he felt sorry for me!- and I bought it.
The Jota is a full range amplifier indeed, and with the right speakers will deliver excellent bass all the way down except for the last octave, for which in my opinion solid state is always the right amplifying implement (as is the use of separate subwoofers).

If you are inclined to listen to vocals and simple acoustic material at moderate level, they can be very effective. the music coming out of WATT 6 was the best I have heard from the pair with Jota.
