Immersive Taming: This works for the most part, but you need to set it so that only babies can be tamed. Many of the wandering adult dinos are coded differently than the babies, which allows for the enhanced AI and behavior, so they shouldn't be tamed.

How to easily tame an ark additions Acrocanthosaurus! Step one: get 4 metal Dino gates and assemble three of them in three sides to form the shape of a trapezoid with no base. It helps a lot to have it on flat and even ground. Step two: find an Acrocanthosaurus and lead it into your trap.
Immersive Taming is better than anything that exists so far. Get close to dinos and throw bait (or fire bait arrows next to them, from a distance) and then carefully walk up and see if they are warming to you.
