While the conditions of the beaches and swimming areas are continuously monitored, we only update the site when there is a change in status such as a closure or some other condition (ex. the presence of stinging jellyfish). We don't always have dates on the posts since many of them may be applicable for a week or more.
19 lip 2022 · Fairfield’s coastal beaches, along with swimming areas at Lake Mohegan, are closed after Monday night’s rain exceeded “the closure criteria,” the town’s health department said in a Facebook post.

The swim area open/closed statuses listed above are determined by the most recent water quality test results. Tests are conducted weekly from Memorial Day to Labor Day. When a closure occurs, a retest will be scheduled within the next day when possible.
