For those of you looking to use a PS3 controller to play your games with, avoid MotionInJoy or BetterDS3. Use this instead. It's a wrapper to translate PS3 input to XInput and display your controller as an XBox controller with no additional setup needed.
I've been using SCPToolkit with a PS3 Controller for a few years now actually, never had an issue with that software. It essentially makes your PC think the Controller is an xBox 360 Controller.
