27 paź 2023 · Between 2012 and 2019, there were 122 573 patients undergoing TAVR who met the inclusion criteria; 114 560 without active cancer and 8013 (6.5%) with active cancer were eligible for this analysis, including 215 with colon cancer, 451 with lung cancer, 863 with prostate cancer, 382 with breast cancer, and 554 of any type of active metastatic cancer.
Surgical risk, age, perceived life expectancy, and valve durability influence the choice between surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and transcatheter aortic valve implantation. The contemporaneous life expectancy after SAVR, in relation to surgical risk and age, is unknown.

21 mar 2022 · Results. Of 1,127 CA patients, 92 (8.2%) had undergone TAVR. Patients with CA who received TAVR were younger and more commonly had coronary artery disease (67.3% vs 44.2%). Teaching (93.6% vs 81.1%) and large hospitals (77.7% vs 59.3%) performed more TAVRs.
