2 lis 2022 · The use of electrocardiographic-gated images decreases motion artifact and improves edge depiction in aortic root imaging, with diminished measurement variability. 16 If there are aortic wall changes (eg, atherosclerosis, mural thrombus), as is more commonly noted in the arch and distal aorta, or discrete wall thickening (eg, aortitis or IMH ...

26 sty 2017 · Thoracic aortic mural thrombus (TAMT) of the descending aorta is rare but can result in dramatic embolic events. Early treatment is therefore crucial; however, there is not a consensus on ideal initial treatment.
Treatment. Unfortunately, there is no robust evidence to guide treatment. Generally, there are two main options: Medical therapy (e.g. antiplatelet agents or anticoagulation) and intervention (e.g. endovascular or surgical). Treatment when there is an Aneurysm.
We present our experience of managing 19 patients with aortic mural thrombus in an otherwise normal aorta and review published literature and contemporary management strategies of aortic mural thrombus based on morphologic features of the thrombus as well as its anatomic location.
Three patients (33.3%) showing pedunculated thrombus (one in pararenal aorta, one at the level of the celiac aorta, and one in the thoracic aorta) were immediately treated with the association of systemic anticoagulation and aortic surgery.
4 lip 2023 · Treatment / Management. Treatment of thrombi could reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and pulmonary embolism. There are no standardized guidelines for the treatment of mural thrombi. Heparin and warfarin are often used to inhibit the initiation and propagation of existing thrombi.
4 lip 2023 · Mural thrombi are thrombi that attach to the wall of a blood vessel and cardiac chamber. Mural thrombus occurrence in a normal or minimally atherosclerotic vessel is a rare entity in the absence of a hypercoagulative state or inflammatory, infectious, or familial aortic ailments.
