1 mar 2022 · The anthropogenic greenhouse effect results from human activity which causes additional emissions of greenhouse gases. The latter prevent more heat radiation from escaping the atmosphere than usual and are thus responsible for a sort of accumulation of heat.

30 wrz 2021 · Abstract. The three recent Special Reports of the IPCC provide an opportunity to understand overarching climate risk, as they cover a wide diversity of risks to natural and human systems. Here we...
29 cze 2020 · The Pleistocene, the geological epoch spanning between 2.5 million years ago and 11,700 years ago, is known as a period of great climatic instability, during which a series of glacial and interglacial climatic cycles occurred, with swings between moist and dry phases.
26 sie 2024 · Rapid, recent climate change caused by rising atmospheric greenhouse-gas levels poses a clear threat to human societies. Despite efforts to control emissions, more than 100 million tonnes...
19 sty 2019 · The Anthropocene can be defined as the human-driven alteration of: (1) the biological fabric of the Earth; (2) the stocks and flows of major elements in the planetary machinery such as nitrogen, carbon, phosphorous and silicon; and (3) the energy balance at the Earth’s surface (Steffen et al. 2007:614).
Abstract. The two-centuries-long surge in greenhouse gas emissions that has driven climate change has had its origins in the societal transformations outlined in this chapter. A capitalist-led expansion in the global economy, coupled with human population increases, accounts for the increase in greenhouse gas emissions.
1 gru 2018 · We considered GHG emissions from natural sources to include those from forest fires, oceans, wetlands, permafrost, volcanoes, mud volcanoes, and earthquakes. For the comparison, we used the definition of anthropogenic activity published in the Kyoto Protocol, which primarily includes energy-related activities.
