Check your keys to see all the devices you've used in each end-to-end encrypted chat. Count the number of keys you have for a friend and compare it to the number of keys that your friend has for themselves. Log out of any device you don't recognize to remove it from the end-to-end encrypted chat.

You need to differentiate between references to the set, and references to individual members of a set.
