Animal science majors may choose from two curriculum options: science and production/industry: • Students who plan to attend veterinary, medical, dental, pharmacy or graduate school are encouraged to select the science option .
This curriculum is designed to provide scientific expertise in chemistry, biological and physical sciences and mathematics and is recommended for students considering entry into the veterinary, medical or allied health field, or the graduate program of their choice.
From medicine (veterinary or human) to animal marketing, Animal Science majors have knowledge and experience in animal breeding and genetics; equine, dairy, and meat science; animal nutrition; and physiology of reproduction.

The Department of Animal Science offers dynamic and challenging undergraduate and graduate programs that cover a broad variety of fields including animal behavior, animal biotechnology, beef cattle, dairy science, equine science, food science and technology, meat science, physiology of reproduction, sheep and goats, and swine.
