Lightworks is a really good free editing software and it has no watermark. I don't use it, but that's my suggestion if you want something free. There's also a software that was made specifically for VHS filters and it's called NTSCqt.

I use Davinci Resolve 17 (which is free but there is paid version $295 one off, no upgrade cost in the future, no subscription model): I use this exclusively. It also includes Fusion which is a compositor and motion graphics tool. If you're new to editing put some time aside to learn how to use it.
