15 sie 2024 · If you’re experiencing issues with your Kindle since the last 5.16.10.0.1 update, you might try restarting it to see if that helps with lagginess or battery drain issues, but most of the problems are probably going to require another update to get fixed.
All of my books are sideloaded which makes this update even worse since none of my docs have covers. I bought a kobo sage and am selling my kindles. Being a slave to one ecosystem isn’t worth it anymore.
Kindle sucks for browsing in general. It has always been better to browse for official books on a phone, tablet, or computer. The new UI didn’t change that. Using Kindle is only good for when you already have a specific book in mind.

The new firmware version is 5.16.7 , and it’s available to download from the Kindle Software Updates page at Amazon if you want to manually install the update now, but there’s really no compelling reason to do so.
