It’s a ‘low rider’, a dwarf mutation of the ‘Portora’. I’ve personally seen several variegated specimens of both varieties & it’s possible for them to have either aurea (gold) or “white” variegation. Leaf (Pic 1&2) does certainly appears to have a light a amount of variegation. Very cool!
Key tips for successful care. Place your Alocasia Portora in a south or west-facing window to give bright light and direct sunlight. Mist the leaves or use a humidifier to increase humidity. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth and gently dry to keep them clean and healthy. Keep most of the soil humid.
Low Rider prefers dry environments. Providing extra humidity or misting your plant allows water to linger on leaves, which can create the perfect environment for harmful types of fungi. 🪴 Soil. Low Rider is very sensitive to dry soil, so choose a potting soil that retains moisture.
IDENTIFY ALOCASIA LOW RIDER. Alocasia Low Rider was actually discovered in a lab as a mutated, dwarf version of Alocasia 'Portora' - a hybrid developed by LariAnn Gardner.
