Whether or not a person is eligible for unemployment benefits is determined by the weekly benefit amount for which you qualify (maximum in Alabama is $275 a week) and your gross weekly earnings. If your gross weekly earnings are less than your weekly benefit amount, you would receive a reduced payment for that week.
What is needed to request an appeal? The Document ID located in the top righthand corner of the Notice of Determination letter is required to file an online appeal. If you have not yet received a Notice of Determination letter, then your claim is still in the adjudication process and you are not yet eligible to file an appeal.
