2 maj 2022 · Go left to get to the vortex, following Aiport Mesa Trail (aka Summit Trail). Less than 200 feet in, you’ll climb a small hill (there are handrails to help), and arrive at the vortex! Go here if you’re not in the mood for an “actual” hike!

As the name suggests, the trail loops all the way around Airport Mesa, offering views of all the most famous red rock formations in Sedona. Distance | 3.34 loop.
16 cze 2022 · The best way to see Airport Mesa vortex site and scenic lookout in Sedona is to hike a short connecting path called Sedona View Trail. We hiked the trail out and back to see the amazing views on both ends, and we think it’s definitely worth including on your Sedona itinerary.
This trail starts at the upper parking area of Sedona Airport and leads you to the Airport Mesa Viewpoint, also known as the Airport Vortex. It's a quick hike, but the path is pretty rocky and rugged, so watch your step. The lookout is the perfect spot to watch planes take off and land.

The trail boasts incredible red rock views, and there are a couple of sections that run alongside beautiful basalt boulders near the mesa's top corner. The trail follows the airport perimeter fence for a short period before descending into a small wash.
