17 paź 2024 · What is the correct AED pad placement for infants? For infants, place one AED pad on the upper left chest and the other on their back. This placement ensures the pads don’t overlap.
Always use an anterior/posterior pad placement. To do this, apply one pad to the center of the infant’s chest—on the sternum—and one pad to the infant’s back between the scapulae. For children 8 or younger or weighing 55 pounds (25 kg) or less: Use pediatric pads if available.

10 paź 2024 · If there is an infant who is under 1 year old, place one pad on the infant’s upper left chest. You must place the second pad on the back of the infant. Make sure that if the pads do not touch the front of the chest, then you must use the anterior-posterior placement.
Attach one AED pad to the infant's chest, carefully roll the infant on his or her side, and attach the second pad to the back. The pads should have a diagram on placement if you need a reminder. Plug the cable into the AED and be sure no one is touching the patient, including yourself.
21 lut 2024 · Place the AED pads onto the infant: Place one of the adhesive electrode pads on the infant’s upper left chest and the other one on the infant’s back. If the pads happen to touch the chest of the infant, apply one of them on the infant’s posterior and the other on the anterior chest.
When using an AED, child pads should be placed at the center of the infant’s chest and they must fully touch the skin; beginning CPR or applying chest compressions before the pads touch is not recommended.
