Shortly after midnight on 10 May 1996, the Adventure Consultants expedition began a summit attempt from Camp IV, atop the South Col (7,900 m or 25,900 ft). They were joined by six client climbers, three guides, and Sherpas from Scott Fischer 's Mountain Madness company, as well as an expedition sponsored by the government of Taiwan .

29 kwi 2020 · Known as one of the most lethal years in Everest’s history, 1996 saw the deaths of 15 climbers, eight of whom died on 10 May. On this day 33 climbers from three groups (Mountain Madness, a government-funded Taiwanese group and Adventure Consultants) were attempting to reach the summit.
5 lip 2023 · During the 1996 climbing season, a total of 12 people lost their lives in their attempt to reach the top. Among the climbers affected by the storm were two teams: Adventure Consultants, led by Rob Hall, and Mountain Madness, led by Scott Fischer.
Adventure Consultants and Mountain Madness. The case focuses on the two largest commercial expeditions that set out to climb Mount Everest on May 10, 1996. One commercial expedition was led by Rob Hall under Adventure Consultants, while the other commercial expedition was led by Scott Fischer under Mountain Madness.
Lou Kasischke and Yasuko Namba rounded out the Adventure Consultants team. Unlike their fellow team members, these two clients had climbed six of the Seven Summits; only Everest had eluded them.
