26 wrz 2021 · Adsorption is a phenomenon that describes the interaction between two different phases that forms an interface layer by transfer of a molecule from a fluid bulk (liquid or gas) to a solid surface...
28 gru 2018 · Adsorption is a phenomenon that collects gas or liquid matter in molecules, atoms or ions on the surface of another solid substance.
Adsorption is the association of an adsorbate compound onto a surface (sorbent), usually in a liquid/solid or vapor-solid system, while absorption involves the redistribution of a compound from the aqueous phase into a volume of material.
Difference beween adsorption and absorption •i) In Adsorption the substanc is distributed throughout the body of a solid or a liquid to form a solution or a compound. •On the other hand , adsorption only takes place on the surface and not in the body of adsorbent. •Thus adsorption is a surface phenomenon and adsorption is a bulk phenomenon.
The adsorption process is classified as either physical or chemical. The basic difference between physical and chemical adsorption is the manner in which the gas molecule is bonded to the adsorbent. In physical adsorption the gas molecule is bonded to the solid surface by weak forces of intermolecular cohesion (van der Waal's force).
