adbFire is a companion program for FireTV XBMC, (Gotham and later only). It allows you to sideload XBMC and other apps without the hassle of downloading the Android SDK and other tools. Additionally, it allows you to copy files to and from XBMC, backup and restore XBMC's data, root the FireTV and more.
To me, Amazon prime for shipping alone is not worth it. The value comes with the other services they bundle in such as Prime Video or Prime Music.
You just need to side load Kodi, no need to root or jailbreak. Use a simple windows program called adbfire to easily side load apps. I wouldn't pay any extra for somebody to install an application for you, that's silly. Here is a nice guide for adbfire
