Our program includes several key steps: Identify false news: We identify potential misinformation using signals, like feedback from people on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, and surface the content to fact-checkers. Fact-checkers may also identify content to review on their own.
In certain countries, we work with independent fact-checkers who are certified through the non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network to help identify and review false information. Fact-checkers check the facts and rate the accuracy of information.
People want to see reliable and credible information on Facebook. Authentic content is more likely to resonate most, so we work hard to understand what type of posts people consider genuine so that we can rank them higher in Facebook Feed.
