The University of Ghana Medical School also UGMS is the medical school of Ghana's first public research institution, the University of Ghana. It is currently located at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. [1] [2] The medical school was first planned in 1919, but took its first students in 1962. [1] [2]

GRADUATE ENTRY MEDICAL PROGRAMME. The School has introduced a 4-year Medical Programme for Graduates with science background leading to an award of MB ChB. This is a full-time, non-residential, GEMP full-fee paying medical programme.
Located 13 kilometers northeast of Accra, Legon Campus is recognised as the nerve-centre of Ghana’s premier academic resource. It houses the central administration and the five traditional Halls of the University - Legon, Volta, Commonwealth, Akuafo and Mensah Sarbah.
The Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP) is an integrated 4-year Medical Programme which leads to the award of MBChB Degree. The Programme will begin in April 2025 and will be run on a FULL-TIME and NON-RESIDENTIAL BASIS for the Phase I and residential for Phase II.
