28 sty 2013 · The Abel Super series is a draw bar cork drag, which is arguably one of the finest drag mechanisms every made. Very simple design and quite easy to maintain. The reels are excellent, high quality pieces of equipment. I'm a huge fan of them and have a number in my quiver. The Creek series is no less beautiful and is a classic click and pawl design.

9 paź 2023 · Recently, the boss here at Manic, Rene Vaz, had the opportunity to tour the Abel and Ross factory in Montrose, Colorado. It was an amazing experience to see how these world-class reels are made. The tour began in the Abel machine shop.
In 1977, I opened my first machine shop in Camarillo, California. Initially, I manufactured parts for aerospace, guns and medical industries; but my desire was always to craft a product of my own. So, in 1987, I turned my life-long passion for fly fishing into what soon became the Abel Reel phenomenon.
