24 kwi 2011 · Raise engine with a jack and 2x4 under the pan. Place a 2x4 between the block and each engine mount. Lower engine onto 2x4s. Unbolt the oil pan and let it drop as low as possible. Reach inside the pan and unbolt the oil pickup and let it drop into the pan. Slide the pan forward off the cross member. Piece o'cake.

11 lip 2009 · its pretty cake all you have to do is remove the two bolts from the crossmember to the frame and drop the pan. You may find the drag link is in the way too. Just change your oil pump while you're at it if you think you're having pressure problems. They're really cheap at rockauto.com.
3 mar 2011 · I was wondering how hard it isto remove the oil pan on the 1st gen mustang with 289? I have a leak and i bought a new seal for it and want to install the windage tray i purchased as well. After 2 months of the car being in the paint booth, im itching to finish putting on my parts.

13 wrz 2014 · As mentioned a few days ago I got the head off my 66 engine 6cy. Took it in for new valves seals etc. Attempted today to remove the oil pan to see if any remnants of the seals had gone into the pan and discovered that when the 289 was removed and the 200 ci 6 was put in the crossmember under the oil pan had been removed and welded back in in place.
