Some years ago, Ken Rockwell did a "review" of a new Pentax dslr that had just been released. He gave it a horrible review. He slammed most everything about it, handling, AF, controls etc. Then at the end of his "review" he admitted that he hadn't actually even handled the camera.

Having done some research it seems my 3 best options are the older SONY 50mm f1.8 OSS (SEL50F18BAE) or the newer SONY FE 50mm f1.8 (SEL50F18F) or possibly the SIGMA 60mm f2.8. I would appreciate any info, factual or anecdotal, in comparing these 3 lenses.
One of the best all-round performers is the collapsible E-mount 16-50mm f3.5-5.6, which is often bundled as a kit lens. It’s sharper at the shorter end of the zoom range (like most models), and it requires stopping down a stop, but it’s very compact and lightweight.
