Harris County Housing & Community Development (HCD) is committed to increasing access to justice for renters at risk of eviction. Under our Eviction Defense Program, external vendors will provide free legal advice and representation to Harris County residents at risk of eviction.
Community Services Department helps eligible Harris County tenants economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic stay in their homes, by providing up to six months of rental assistance. Assistance is available for both tenants who have been sued for eviction or tenants struggling to pay their rent.

The Texas Eviction Diversion Program (TEDP) administered by Harris County Community Services Department helps eligible Harris County tenants stay in their home and provides landlords an alternative to eviction.
