The SIM-ALP2 can simulate a 2 wire 4-20 mA loop powered device, a 4 wire 4-20mA current source without an external power supply, or a 0-10VDC signal without an external power supply. Simulating is easy in 1 mA/V or 0.1 mA/V increments by simply clicking the up and down buttons.
4-20 mA sounds like PLC signals. You can just buy off-the-shelf hardware for this if you want. Otherwise I'd lowpass filter a PWM signal (or use a DAC like you have in the ESP32) to control op amps in current-feedback mode.

17 mar 2021 · Many 4 - 20 mA inputs have a 250 Ω shunt resistor to convert 20 mA to 5 V. If this is what you are dealing with then you can simulate the transmitters with a PP3 style 9 V battery, a potentiometer, a limiting resistor and a multimeter in mA mode. It's very cheap and should suffice for testing.
4 sty 2015 · I'm trying to create a simple 4-20mA current loop simulator that I can control using a potentiometer. The idea is to hook up this circuit to an Arduino and use the Arduino's analog input to read in the current loop (by converting it into a 1-5V signal using a 250 ohm resistor).

The Model 680 4-20mA Simulator is designed to simulate 4-20mA current levels, and allows the user to calibrate and test 4-20mA modules. COARSE and FINE knob adjustments set current level. An LCD display shows current level.
