Grade 304 and 316 design pressures are only valid at temperatures above 538°C if carbon content is 0.04% or higher. Allowable working pressures are given in megapascals (MPa). Conversions to other units are: The information contained in this Atlas Steels series of tables is not an exhaustive statement of all relevant information.
25 lis 2010 · Ratings for standard seamless stainless steel pipes, temperatures ranging 100 o F to 750 o F. All ratings in psig based on ANSI/ASME B 31.1. Allowable pressure is calculated with the ASME 31.3 Allowable Pressure Equation with quality factor E = 0.6 and wall thickness coefficient Y = 0.4.
Calculation Basis: Annealed, seamless 304 or 316 stainless steel tubing ASTM A-269 or equivalent. System temperatures between -20°F and 100°F with allowable stress of 20,000 psi. Ultimate tensile strength of 75,000 psi.
1 - For higher pressures, see please contact Titan Fittings. 2 - Rating based on repeated pressure testing with a 4:1 design factor based upon hydraulic fluid leakage.
5 wrz 2023 · Before using a 316 stainless steel pipe pressure rating chart, it is important to understand how to read and interpret the data. The chart typically includes several columns, such as nominal pipe size, wall thickness, maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP), and temperature range.
Tubing Type 316 stainless steel seamless, 1/2 in. x 0.049 in. wall at 100 ˚F • The allowable working pressure at room temperature (up to 100 ˚F) is 2800 psi (Refer to Table 1) • The elevated temperature factor for 316 stainless steel is 0.77 at 1000 ˚F (Refer to Table 15)
For specified minimum tensile and yield strengths refer to the individual ASTM specifications in Sections 2 and 3. For temperatures above 538 °C (1000 °F), these stress values may be used only if the material has been heat treated at a temperature of 1093 °C (2000°F) minimum.
