1 paź 2005 · If it's in front of the radiator, it only comes on when the A/C is on. Your main cooling fan is a clutch fan bolted to the water pump. Check coolent level, thermostat, radiator cap, and if all of those check out OK, it could either be a clogged system or a blown head gasket.
Ensure that the car has fully cooled off and coolant system pressure is released (Remove the radiator cap but BE CAREFUL if you think it even MIGHT be hot!) a. Locate the Coolant Temp Sensor.
Fan/Harness test: Check fan operation by placing a jumper across the two relay terminals closest together. Expect light sparks at the jumper when contact is first made; this should be providing direct battery power to the fan.
The most common reasons a Nissan 300ZX is overheating are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat.

Drain cooling system and engine crankcase. Remove radiator, shroud and fan. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove power steering pump and A/C compressor (if equipped) with hoses connected. NOTE: DO NOT loosen or remove 4 bolts holding cover on fluid-filled front engine mount. 3) Label and disconnect all wiring and hoses affecting engine removal.
