By emphasizing their masculine images, 2PM created the "jimseung-dol" (jimseung means an animal or beast in Korean) phenomenon in 2008. Jaebeom was chosen to serve as the group's leader, as he was the oldest member and also the one where all the members acknowledged as the most talented one.
Besides their KPOP legend status, 2PM gained significant popularity in Japan since their debut there in May 2011. Their Japanese single, "Take Off," served as the OST of the popular anime "Blue Exorcist." This success led to a thriving career in Japan and became a crucial source of income for their agency, JYPE.
