Mark ranges for grades 6 to 4 are derived from Ofqual’s model. Mark ranges for grades 9 to 7 are derived by allocating marks 89 to 100 according to Ofqual’s model distribution of these grades as 20:40:40. The narrow mark range for grade 9 reflects the intense competition for this grade following from allocating the same proportion
Across England, only 20.7% of GCSE grades were at grade 7 or above. So if you’re in this minority, well done. In Maths, only 17.5% of grades were 7 or above. For English Language, it’s 16.3% and English Literature is 21%. So a grade 7 is even more impressive for English and Maths! What GCSE grade is 80%?
