Yeah, the manual apparently had a mistake and the amount of oil actually expected in the gearbox is under 100ml. They don’t recommend to lift the front wheel to fill it. I try to put in 90ml. I have over 1500miles right now and everything’s fine.
Your first concern: There is a breather tube at the top of the gearbox to allow pressure equalization. Second concern: 'toping it off' the way I show in the video isn't actually filling the entire volume of the gearbox with oil, because the gearbox is at a slanted upward angle on the bike. It's more like probably 60-70% full of oil.

This is pretty normal in transmissions. So what do we do? We fill it with fresh gear oil, seal everything back up and go rip it for about a mile nice and hard to get everything warm and mixed nicely. Then we bring it back, and drain the oil again.

14 cze 2024 · The biggest problem that has occurred on Rusty’s own Sting, and many others, is the gearbox output shaft has broken. Possibly due to upgraded higher power, but has also allegedly occurred on stock power. This creates an issue as the only fix is to replace the gearbox, a relatively expensive part.
