22 kwi 2018 · I have a 2011 328i coupe with a sport package and manual transmission. I currently have about 75K miles on it. I am a couple hundred miles out of town for work every other week. The car has been completely reliable. I bought it used with about 30K miles on it.
The automatics for the 328i E9x generation uses a GM transmission (I think some markets in Europe had the ZF variant, not 100% sure), and they’re also pretty reliable with proper maintenance. Biggest issues to watch for is the OFHG leak (which can cause your drive belt to fail and potentially grenade your engine) and the electric water pump.
