Measure the fluid level with the engine idling in Park. Insert the dipstick until it stops (the red handle will still be some distance away from the top of the dipstick tube). Remove dipstick to check the fluid level. Cold: fluid level should be between the two ‘25’ markings on the black scale.

23 paź 2023 · Is it normal to have a dipstick tube but no dipping stick in it for the gearbox? It feels like it wouldn't even be able to house one as there is a red cap that goes over the tube top anyway? How do I go about keeping checks on my gearbox oil?
If the transmission fluid level in your 300 is low, you need to add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube or the check plug hole. When adding transmission fluid to your 300, be sure to add it slowly as it will fill up quickly and is difficult to remove excess fluid if you overfill.

18 paź 2005 · It has a short black handle and the gasket seems to fit on the tube correctly. With a cold tranny, the dipstick from the 94 Ram reads on the add mark or about bottom of the cross-hatching. I drove to the car wash and back 10 mile roundtrip, car running the whole time during the wash.
