1 maj 2017 · I bought some compatible tools and put some cloth around the ring ends to give extra leverage otherwise your fingers give in before the radio does. As long as the HU pops out a few millimeters then you should be able to prise it out from the front.
6 lut 2009 · Here's a FREE way of doing it without the hassle: Audi need the serial number from the radio. For security the key code is centrally held and they won't give it you over the phone. They need to contact the database during business hours which is inconvenient if you want the car.
6 sty 2006 · Can anyone tell me how to remove the stock radio from a 2000 Audi TT. I read in the forums that I need a special tool. Is that the only way to do it? thanks

14 mar 2007 · I would get two thin 1/8" steel strips(so they don't bend too much), cut them as they are on Jeff's DIY radio tool writeup. See if you can torque them hard enough (pushing both makeshift tools away from the headunit so the tips press inwards onto the hu) to get some friction while you pull.
